Faith Without Action Is Dead!

No matter what or who you place your faith in, without action nothing changes!

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (James 2:14-17,26 – NIV)

Most parents in years past have always placed a great deal of faith in America’s school systems and school teachers to educate our children well and to properly prepare them for the challenges of life in an imperfect world.

With the 1619 Project and Critical Race Theory curricula taking center stage in many of today’s schools and universities, a real battle for the hearts, minds, and souls of our children and grandchildren is raging whether we believe it or not!

Many parents are beginning to wake up to this fact and are slowly starting to push back, as well they should. More parents MUST WAKE UP and TAKE ACTION for the sake of their children’s futures!

Hopefully, Dennis Prager’s article below, will begin to open more eyes to what must happen if American schools are going to hear a loud a clear message of the changes parents are demanding.

The Single Best Thing Americans Can Do To Retake America

The most frequent question people pose to me is: What can I/we do to fight back against the nihilistic anti-American destruction of virtually all the country’s major institutions?

There is an answer.

The single best thing Americans can do to counter the left-wing attack on America — against its freedoms, its schools, its families, its children, its governmental institutions, its sports, its news and entertainment media, its medical establishment, the CIA, the FBI, the State Department and the military — is to take their children out of America’s schools.

Other than in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), the vast majority of America’s elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities teach your child or grandchild almost nothing important; prematurely sexualize them, thereby robbing them of their innocence; and harm them intellectually and morally. They rarely teach them, for example, art or music because they are too busy teaching them race-centered hatred of whites, of America and of America’s values. Sending your child(ren) to most American schools is playing Russian roulette with their values — but unlike the gun in Russian roulette, which has a bullet in only one of its six chambers, the schools’ guns hold four or five bullets.

In many elementary schools, your child is taught that gender is chosen and that there is no difference between boys and girls (in a growing number of schools, the teachers are told not to call their students “boys and girls”); they are taught about masturbation; and many children from first grade on attend “Drag Queen Story Hour,” wherein an obvious man wearing women’s clothing, garish makeup, and a wig entertains them.

Given that all this is well-known, why do any nonleft — meaning, liberal or conservative — parents send their children to an American school?

One reason is they are in denial. Many parents do not want to know what their children are being taught and the consequent damage done to them. They don’t really believe school(s) will ruin their child, let alone their child’s relationship with them.

These parents should speak to any of the millions — yes, millions — of Americans whose children have contempt for America, for free speech and for their parents as a result of attending an American college or even high school. I meet such people at every speech I give, and I speak to them regularly on my radio show. Ask these parents, if they could redo their lives, whether they would keep their child in school.

A second reason is they feel they have no choice. If they remove their child from the local public or private school (most private schools are just as committed to anti-American indoctrination over education as public schools), what will they do with their child? They often cannot find a local school that does not harm their child. They cannot necessarily even rely on Christian or Jewish schools. Most of them are as “woke” as most secular schools. And if they do find a school that teaches rather than poisons, they may not be able to afford the tuition.

The only other option, then, is to home-school one’s child. The problem is that many parents assume this is essentially impossible. For one thing, they assume that one of the parents would have to leave his or her work, which would mean a serious reduction in the family’s income. In addition, home-schooling strikes most people as simply too daunting a task, even if they could afford to take it on.

Neither fear is entirely justified. It is true that, at least at the outset, a working parent may have to cut back from full-time work, and it is true that no matter what the family’s financial condition, there are challenges to taking one’s children out of school and home-schooling them.

But given the low intellectual state of most American schools, the damage they do to young children’s innocence and the anti-American, anti-white, anti-Western indoctrination in most schools, if you are a parent of school-age children, what is your choice?

Other than a) finding a good school that b) you can afford, you have no other choice. You are fooling yourself if you think the odds are that after attending American schools from kindergarten through college (not to mention through graduate school), your child will turn out well-educated, intellectually alive, rational, kind, happy, well-adjusted, grateful to be American, and respectful of you and your values.

While there are some wonderful young Americans who recently attended American schools, and there are some lost souls who were home-schooled, American schools are largely producing the following:

Poorly educated students. Ask your college son or daughter to diagram a sentence; identify Joseph Stalin, “The Gulag Archipelago” or the Soviet Union; name the branches of the American government; identify — or just spell — Beethoven; date the Civil War; identify the Holocaust; and name which sentence is correct — “He gave the book to my friend and me” or, “He gave the book to my friend and I.”

Angry young people. Why wouldn’t they be? First, they graduate college with a huge load of debt, having received almost nothing useful for their money. Second, if they are anything other than a white heterosexual Christian male, they have been taught to regard themselves as victims of oppression. Third, their future is so bleak they may not even have one: They are threatened with extinction by climate change.

The single best thing Americans can do to fight the left-wing destruction of the country is to withdraw from the “educational” system that is actively, deliberately miseducating them by the tens of millions. If millions of American parents did so, the country would turn around as fast as you could say “teachers unions.” If they don’t, their children will continue being used as guinea pigs in the Left’s sick and dystopian experiment.

Remembering The Cost Of Our Freedom And Liberty

Wishing every American, regardless of political affiliation and ideology, religious belief, or skin color, a very blessed Memorial Day.

May we take time to solemnly reflect on the ultimate price, the blood shed and the lives lost, that so many paid since the founding of the United States of America. May we remember and pray for the gold star families who have lost loved ones securing the liberties and freedoms we enjoy today.

Then, may we celebrate with family and friends the ultimate sacrifice so many made for the privilege we still have to continue living in the greatest God-blessed nation the world has ever seen and known.

In conclusion, I’ve taken the liberty of adding a few picture posts from others that truly touched my heart:

I would be remiss in not mentioning with great joy in my heart that there is One other we should thank and celebrate who also shed His blood and gave His life that those who believe in Him will live forever with Him. For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

To God be the glory for the great things He has done, and continues to do!

Wisdom For The New Year!

New Year Greetings To All

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and you have fully recovered from any and all ill effects of 2020, including any severe health issues from COVID-19.

Even though we’re not fully done with COVID-19 yet, I’m praying the worst is behind us and the best is yet to come in 2021, God willing!

I originally posted the content below in January 2018. It was my very first post! I’m re-posting this wisdom at the beginning of each new year as a fresh reminder for all of us.

I drafted these nuggets of wisdom below in December 2018 to share with our amazing and talented grandchildren. I put a copy in each of their Christmas stockings and encouraged them to read the one corresponding to each day of the week. Not a very exciting stocking stuffer, I know! My hope and prayer is they will take this wisdom with them, apply it to their lives as they grow, and even share it with their friends.

It didn’t take long to realize these nuggets of wisdom might also be beneficial for anyone desiring to make positive changes in their lives, no matter their age.

I can’t think of a better New Year’s resolution than reading and meditating on these daily nuggets of wisdom each week and committing to live by them. I believe the world would be a far better place if each of us just started here!

Full Disclosure: Each of the daily quotes below are from sources other than my own pea brain! I cannot take credit for originating them, however I did add some content to each.

So, even if you don’t believe in the power of prayer, you can’t go wrong making the “Sunday Prayer” below your very own every day of the week, let alone on Sundays.

It’s a prayer written by General Douglas MacArthur to his only son during World War II. I’ve reworded it a bit to personalize it.

ENJOY!

Daily Wisdom For 2021

Sunday:      O Lord, make me strong enough to know when I am weak and brave enough to face myself when I am afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Make me a person whose wishes will not take the place of good deeds; who will know Thee, and that to know myself is the foundation stone of knowledge.

Lead me, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let me learn to stand up in the storm; here let me learn compassion for those who fail.

Make me a person whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high; who will master myself before I seek to master others; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these things are mine O Lord, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that I may always be serious, yet never take myself too seriously. Give me humility, so that I may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, and the weakness of true strength.

Then O Lord, I will dare to whisper, I have not lived in vain.

Monday:       Job security is your ability to produce. Never stop learning and giving your very best effort every day.

Tuesday:      Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. Don’t take your God-given talents and abilities for granted. No pain, no gain!

Wednesday:  Moral & ethical character is the will to do what is right, as God defines right in the Holy Bible, regardless of personal cost. Sometimes, doing the right thing hurts!

Thursday:    What’s popular is not always right, and what’s right is not always popular. One bad decision can lead to a lifetime of regrets!

Friday:         You can never be at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, if you’re with the wrong crowd! Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.

Saturday:     Run from evil and hold onto what is good. Sin has consequences!

Parents and grandparents, please bless your children and grandchildren with a copy of this daily wisdom. Encourage them to use it as a moral compass as they grow and navigate through this crazy world we live in.

Where Have All Our Heroes Gone?

A good friend of mine, who is also a well respected pastor, recently shared the post below from another source on his Facebook page.

The post perfectly articulated my personal feelings as well which led to my decision to walk away from viewing and supporting all pro sports teams and players who have decided to become political activists on the field of play instead of just playing the game the way it was always meant to be played!

Although this post only focuses on the NFL, I personally choose to include the NBA, WNBA, MLB, and MLS just to name a few others.

Therefore, I am doing what the writer proposed readers of his post do: “Pass this post along to all your friends and family, if you believe it worthy of sharing.”

I too believe it is worthy of sharing!

“Some Folks Have Come to Despise the NFL…

For fans who follow the sport, most of this will be a simple reminder of things you already know. For the rest, it’s a wake-up call:

  • In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off.
  • In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.
  • In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said “Know Jesus Know Peace” but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
  • In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing “Find the Cure” eye-black for breast cancer awareness.
  • In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem!).
  • In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police Officers killed in the line of duty.
  • In 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

So tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression. It seems quite clear based on these facts that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue: For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops killed arbitrarily, for being cops, or for the Memory of 9/11…

BUT they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National Flag, our National Anthem, for America, and for the American People, if it will help mollify a particular Group and its supporters.

That is who and what the NFL now has shown itself to be.

Pass this post along to all your friends and family, if you believe it worthy of sharing.

Honor our military; too many of whom have come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.”

As for me and my family. . .we will always stand for our flag and our National Anthem,  which should be the ONLY anthem sung at any event, and we will kneel ONLY at the feet of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

So, where have all our heroes gone? The good news is they are still among us just wearing different kinds of uniforms.

GOD BLESS AMERICA, and all the real American heroes who don’t play games but actually work tirelessly putting their lives on the line every day to insure America remains THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE:

  • Our Military
  • Police Officers
  • Fire Fighters
  • Doctors, Nurses, EMT’s, and all other healthcare providers
  • All other First Responders who mostly go unnoticed and unappreciated

The America I Know And Love!

“Time Won’t Let Me” (one of my all-time favorite songs growing up in the 60’s by the Outsiders) Listen Here

Well, I thought I was going to take some time off from posting to recover from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, but with 73 days left to arguably the most important Presidential election since the birth of the U.S.A., I just couldn’t do it! “Time Won’t Let Me”!

In my last post entitled “Houston, We Have A Problem”, I focused on COVID-19 and some of the issues and questions still facing us regarding drugs and vaccines and their pros and cons. If you missed it, please check it out.

However, when I read the articles below, I just had to share them with all who may have missed them.

It is SOOOO refreshing to know that there are still young adults here in the U.S.A. (I’m including high school students as well like the ones below) who are willing to stand up and be heard in the face of, sadly, too many misguided young adults who just want to riot, loot, burn, and try to destroy the greatest nation the world has ever known. These violent individuals (the peaceful protestors have all gone home) are falling for a great deal of misinformation and lies about white supremacy, racial, and social injustices.

I’m not saying these issues don’t exist, they do, but there is a right way (God-honoring) and a wrong way (hate-filled) to address them. And, if we are honest with each other, a lot of progress has been made here in the U.S.A. since the days of slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Below is an interesting point of view from a young millennial against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s views! It is a well written and thoughtful article by a 26-year old college student named Alyssa Ahlgren, who is in graduate school working on her MBA.
Ocasio-Cortez

My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us!

I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my news feed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of presidential candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around.

I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it.

Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought.

We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!!

Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.

Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in.

When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided.

My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country.

People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.

Why? The answer is this, my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn’t see the rise and fall of socialism and communism.

We don’t know what it’s like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.”

Photographer and Superintendent address controversial photo of Ohio football players

MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The discussion over black lives and blue lives now involves high schoolers wearing blue and red in one central Ohio community. A promotional photo of the Marysville High School football team is leading to controversy after team members held the “thin blue line” flag representing law enforcement in the picture.

Viewers of WSYX/WTTE and others on social media complained about the photo, concerned it was a political statement against the Black Lives Matter movement.

The photo is not the official team photo, but a promotional picture, paid for by a booster group, the Monarch Quarterback Club. Emails to the club were not returned today. In addition to the “thin blue line” flag, team members are holding flags representing other first responders, along with the American and Ohio flags.

The controversy got the attention of the school board at last night’s meeting.

“I think it’s easy to rush to judgement, especially with how polarizing some events are in our society,” said Diane Allen, superintendent of Marysville schools at last night’s meeting.

She called this a teachable moment and said it’s difficult to judge what the intent of the players is.

“Intent can’t always be measured or evaluated in a picture, it’s also important to recognize that a symbol or a flag can mean one thing to you and one thing to the person standing beside you,” she said.

The photographer who took the photo is upset as well. Robin Thompson posted on Facebook, asking, “When did we stop seeing things through a lens of love and just see things through a lens of hate and division?… When did we decide to accuse instead of embrace?”

Thompson said the photo is not meant to be a political statement and that some of the team members have loved ones who serve as first responders.

“It was never meant to promote one group over another. It was meant to say ‘Thank you,’ she wrote. “I am sorry if you could not see the intent. But I assure you, the intent is love.”

Since when has it become controversial or political to fly an American flag, or a flag supporting law enforcement? The answer: Since a group of intolerant malcontents who hate America decided they have all the answers and if we disagree with them, we must be the problem, our views must be silenced, and we must be punished and even eliminated.

Those high school football players make me a proud Ohioan, and more importantly, they as well as the graduate student working on her MBA make me a proud American!

Happy Labor Day!

The History of Labor Day

I must confess, I never knew the history of “Labor Day” or why we celebrate it until I read the information below sent from a friend of mine.

ENJOY!

by Bob Lupton on

Workers on strike leave the Pullman FactoryWorkers on strike leave the Pullman Factory

Labor Day – It’s always the first Monday in September, the final party day of the summer that ushers in the autumn season. What benevolent politician should we credit for coming up with a free day off (long weekend actually) in recognition of our nation’s hard-working labor force? A patriotic statesman, perhaps, who understands and appreciates the sweat and toil of those who have built our great nation?

Well, not quite. President Grover Cleveland may have signed the decree, but it was motivated much more by political pragmatism than altruism.

In the summer of 1894 (when Labor Day became a federal holiday) the nation was in the midst of a deep economic depression. Unemployment was reaching alarming rates and those workers who could find jobs faced long, exhausting work hours and drastically reduced wages. Labor unions were organizing strikes and business owners were forced to shutter their plants. This was a time of tension and strife, hardly a time for celebrating workers.

In Chicago one prominent industrialist had devised a creative plan to keep his business operating and his employees working during these difficult times. His name was George Pullman. He had built one of the premier manufacturing companies in the nation – The Palace Car Company.

Inspired by the faith-motivated garden city movement that was reforming employment practices in Europe, Pullman had built an entire self-sustaining town around his railroad car factory. (He named it Pullman!) It provided his employees and their families all the amenities of healthy community life – attractive housing, convenient shopping, recreation facilities, even a church for worship.

George became convinced that a well-run company town not only fostered loyalty among employees but increased profitability as well. Cadbury, Lever, and other industry leaders in England had proven this.

But unlike Cadbury and Lever whose guiding value was “love of God and neighbor,” Pullman saw this garden city strategy primarily as a profit-making tactic. Company housing, stores, even the church building, were income producing cost centers. And it worked – for a time. But as the depression dragged on, Pullman maintained company profitability by extending work hours and cutting wages.

His employees might have understood these measures as necessary tightening of the corporate belt had he eased rental rates on company housing or reduced prices on basic necessities at the company store. But he did neither. He continued to operate these amenities as profit-making enterprises. Consequently, employee loyalty evaporated.

The final straw, however, was when it was discovered that Pullman and his stockholders were making handsome earnings while workers sunk deeper and deeper in debt. Workers quickly organized a strike, bringing production to a halt.

Striking Pullman workers were soon joined by other labor union members in sympathy strikes. This cascade threatened to bring national rail transportation to a standstill. Riots ensued, then violent eruptions. Train cars were burned and engines destroyed. Police and armed security guards fired on the surging mobs of demonstrators, killing and wounding several protesters, which further inflamed the violence. Ten thousand state militia and federal troops were sent in to quell the uprising. More deaths occurred. The outcry went national.

President Cleveland had to do something drastic. Deploying more troops was not the answer. That failing strategy was costing him serious losses in popularity polls. Giving beleaguered workers a long weekend off could help calm the tensions, he reasoned. A special day of recognition, an olive branch of sorts, might soothe some of the wounds that hard-working citizens were experiencing.

And so Labor Day became a day “dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers…a national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

A worthy tribute, yes, but mostly a day to pause from conflict and toil, to play and relax, to eat and drink, to enjoy family and friends. And now, more than a century later, it remains a day of thanksgiving for the God-ordained role of work.

(By the way, President Cleveland lost his re-election bid)

Praying you and your families will have a relaxing enjoyable day off tomorrow playing, eating, and giving thanks for “the God-ordained role of work” in our lives.

Happy Birthday America!

This short post is dedicated to Ex-football player Colin Kaepernick, basketball player Labron James, U.S. soccer player Megan Rapinoe, and all the other ungrateful and unpatriotic athletes and individuals across this great land who obviously haven’t taken the time to learn and appreciate the history of the birth of the greatest nation on earth, what our flag really stands for, and the ultimate price men and women have paid over the past 243 years for the freedoms we all enjoy today, for better or worse!

The video below is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children and grandchildren on this 4th of July and every 4th of July hereafter. I highly recommend you watch it together as a family!

This 11-minute history lesson must not be ignored unless, God forbid, we really don’t care how many more Colin Kaepernicks and Megan Rapinoes will be raised in ignorance of how and why the American flag and our National Anthem are to be highly honored and respected every chance we get to do so.

America Has Lost Its Moral Compass!

America: A Historical Reminder

Anyone who has taken the time to read about the factual history of our nation would have to agree that America was founded on the Judeo-Christian principles of the Holy Bible. There’s just no denying it!

In fact, most of our Founding Fathers who signed our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were professing Christians, and those who weren’t still professed a belief in the God of creation.

How and why is it that so many of these men and women, and their families, were professing Christians?

To find those answers we  literally have to go back to the earliest days of our founding, to the days of the Pilgrims and the Puritans.

In his book, America’s Christian History: The Untold Story, Gary DeMar states, “One of the most useful tools in the quest for power is the educational system. The implication of this statement is obvious: Whoever controls the educational system will set the goals for the nation, establish its religious values, and ultimately control the future. From Sparta and Athens to Geneva and Harvard, education has been the primary means of cultural transformation.”

In America, DeMar states, “One of the first acts performed in the New World was the establishment of schools and colleges. The Virginia colony was the first to charter a college at Henrico, Virginia in 1619, nineteen years before Harvard and seventy-four years before the College of William and Mary. Like all the colonial colleges, Henricus College was designed around the precepts of the Christian faith, ‘for the training and bringing up of infidels’ children to the true knowledge of God and understanding of righteousness’. The New England colonial colleges were designed to further the gospel of Christ in all disciplines.”

“The founders of these early educational institutions understood the relationship between a sound education based upon biblical absolutes and the future of the nation. Putting the Bible in the hands of the people was an essential step toward religious and political freedom. From the very beginnings, the expressed purpose of colonial education had been to preserve society against barbarism, and, so far as possible, against sin.”

DeMar continues to say, “When Trinity University was endowed as Duke University in 1924, its bylaws stated: ‘The aims of Duke University are to assert a faith in the eternal union of knowledge and religion set forth in the teachings and character of Jesus Christ, the Son of God….’ A study of colonial colleges will show that the character of Duke’s founding was nearly identical to those colleges started in the seventeenth century.”

“As the following chart demonstrates, with the exception of the University of Pennsylvania (1755), all of the colonial schools began as distinctly Christian institutions. Unfortunately, Duke and its educational predecessors no longer hold to their original denominational affiliations or their religious affirmations.”

          Date                 College                            Colony                             Affiliation

  1. 1636           Harvard              Massachusetts                Puritan
  2. 1693     William and Mary          Virginia                     Anglican
  3. 1701             Yale                    Connecticut           Congregational
  4. 1746         Princeton                New Jersey             Presbyterian
  5. 1754      King’s College             New York                    Anglican
  6.                 (Columbia)
  7. 1764           Brown                  Rhode Island                  Baptist
  8. 1766          Rutgers                  New Jersey           Dutch Reformed
  9. 1769        Dartmouth           New Hampshire         Congregational

DeMar emphasizes the obvious fact that, “Regardless of the vocation for which a student was preparing, the colonial college sought to provide an education that was distinctly Christian.”

Where and With Whom Does the Fault Lie?

Because all humans have inherited Adam and Eve’s “original sin”, we are all born sinners! We aren’t sinners because we sin, we sin because we are all sinners right out of  our mother’s wombs.

And even though no generation in America has been or is perfect, I believe from my generation of the Baby Boomers until now, the moral decline of America has escalated in some very concerning ways.

The battle cry of the Baby Boomers in the 1960’s and 70’s was, “If it feels good, do it”, and we did!

What used to be considered sinful acts and speech by the majority of American citizens prior to the Baby Boomer generation, they are now celebrated as main street life choices that must not only be tolerated but accepted as the “new normal”! Anybody disagreeing with this “new normal” is now labeled as having some sort of phobia that must not be tolerated, or worse yet, a racist!

Sins of abortion (murdering babies), adultery, divorce, fornication (sex outside of marriage), homosexuality, lying, profanity, and sex changes were considered shameful acts only to be whispered about in generations prior to the Baby Boomers.

The truth is, we should all be ashamed of the sins in our lives and strive to turn from them, not continue to live openly in sin and celebrate them as if everyone should agree with those choices! This is clearly not a God-honoring way to live!

Sadly, many of our liberal elected officials not only disagree, they are feverishly passing laws, or attempting to pass laws, that do in fact happily celebrate some of these sinful acts!

Without a belief in a Holy Sinless God who expects and commands us to know and live by His standards, there is no need to be ashamed of anything since the “new normal” of moral relativism has now taken such a strong hold in our culture today.

How Can America Regain Its Moral Compass?

For starters, we can all take the time to get better acquainted with the Holy Sinless God who expects and commands us to know and live by His standards. That means making a commitment to read the Holy Bible, maybe for the first time in your life!

Next, choose to admit to, confess, and repent, or turn away, from the obvious sins in our lives. This is never an easy step. Christians, who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, have been filled with God’s Holy Spirit who empowers us and helps us turn from our wicked ways. For unbelievers, living without the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit, they must rely on their own strength and will power to change their ways.

Last, but certainly not least, if you are sincerely interested in doing your part to help America regain its moral compass, we must work feverishly and commit to voting out of office every liberal/socialist who stands against our morals and the values this great nation was founded on! This would also include all elected officials who have been spewing hateful antisemitic rhetoric from the halls of Congress.

To the Holy Sinless God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob be the glory now and forever! AMEN!

See you next week for more Wisdom Matters!

A Serious Message From a Funny Guy!

A good friend of mine sent me an email I felt was worth passing on. Many of you may have heard of Jeff Foxworthy. For those who haven’t, he is quite a funny comedian. However, his article below is not meant to be funny. Instead, Jeff is trying to wake up readers to the reality of what’s going on around the world, and especially here in America.

  • If being stripped of your Constitutional right to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.
